Though the proposal didn't happen on Halloween as previously reported, LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian are engaged to be married, E!Online.com is reporting. A source close to the couple tells E! News that the actor proposed recently.
The engagement news comes just days after Cibrian tweeted aphoto of himself kneeling in front of a shocked Rimes. "I couldn't resist..." he tweeted Sunday evening. But sources say the photo was just a joke. "They are not engaged," says a source close to Rimes. "It was just part of the Halloween fun."
Rimes and Cibrian met and began a relationship while filming the 2008 Lifetime television movie 'Northern Lights.' Both were married at the time but have since divorced their spouses to be together. She ended her 7-year marriage to Dean Sheremet, admitting in June that they worked on their relationship after her infidelity became public but decided "it wasn't a marriage that fulfilled either one of us."

"I take responsibility for everything I've done. I hate that people got hurt," says Rimes. "But I don't regret the outcome."
Just last week, Rimes made headlines when the editor-in-chief of Shape Magazine sent a letter to subscribers apologizing for putting the singer on the October cover and glorifying a "husband-stealer."The editor has since stated that she stands behind her decision to feature Rimes on the cover.
