After Bristol came out all guns blazing in an an eventful ninth week of 'Dancing With the Stars,' one star had to samba their way home. Who was sent packing? Find out the results after the jump.(Spoiler alert!) >>

Brandy and her dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were eliminated from "Dancing with the Stars" on Tuesday's elimination show. Brandy and Maks scored higher overall on Monday than Bristol Palin and her dance partner Mark Ballas.

Both Bristol and Brandy both appeared surprised at the results.

Bristol has faced criticism for her performances on the show. She has been consistently ranked near the bottom of the leader-board throughout the competition but viewers' votes have helped the pair outlast high-scorers like Rick Fox.

There has been some speculation on whether its Sarah Palin's influence that's helping Bristol to still be in the competition. Popeater's own Rob Shuter has sources are telling him that if Bristol wins 'Dancing With the Stars,' Sarah Palin is assured to run for the presidency in 2012

"Sarah ultimately wants to win if she runs again; she's not interested in running to increase her popularity or visibility. She will only run if she thinks she can win," a friend of Bristol's tells Shuter.

"And the best barometer at the moment is Bristol's success on 'Dancing With the Stars.' If Bristol can get enough votes to win the mirror ball trophy, Sarah is convinced she can get enough votes to send her to the White House."
