Guess that push-up contest idea didn't fly! In a settlement announced late Friday, 'Twilight' star Taylor Lautner will be awarded $40,000 by the California company McMahon's RV, according to Us. The 18-year-old actor recently filed a breach of contract suit seeking damages from Brent McMahon's firm for allegedly failing to deliver a $300,000 trailer to the Pittsburgh set of Lautner's latest film, 'Abduction,' on time.
On legal documents, Lautner allegedly cited "emotional distress" in seeking damages from the dealership, igniting buzz about the actor's petulant behavior. But a source now says a diva meltdown never happened, and the young movie star's emotions weren't the point of the lawsuit.

"This was never a suit about money," a tipster close to the case told Us. "It was to hold someone accountable." The insider added, "Taylor never ordered a customized RV -- it was a used RV which needed simple safety-related repairs. There was never any diva behavior. 'Emotional distress' is an automatic checked box on a fraudulent claim."
Indeed, while the case was still unresolved (and McMahon was telling the press he'd welcome an athletic showdown with the super-fit teen), Lautner's lawyer issued a statement saying the suit was merely about the dealer's "refusal to deliver the vehicle in the safe, drivable condition that was promised, as every purchaser has the right to expect. A cursory review of McMahon's RV's record with the Better Business Bureau shows that this is a repeated pattern of conduct; Mr. Lautner just happens to be a high profile customer holding them accountable."
Lautner is reportedly donating the $40,000 to one of his favorite causes, the Lollipop Theatre Network. According to its website, the charity's mission is to entertain critically ill children confined to hospitals by screening first-run movies for them and their families. (Yes, that was the sound of Team Jacob collectively swooning.)
'Abduction,' a thriller directed by John Singleton ('Boyz n the Hood,' 'Four Brothers') and costarring Alfred Molina and Sigourney Weaver, is scheduled to open next year.
