Talk about an off-the-radar romance! While portraying siblings Sarah and Adam Braverman on the NBC dramedy 'Parenthood' (season 2 premieres this Tuesday), Lauren Graham and Peter Krause have quietly been getting cozy off the set. In the October issue of Redbook, Graham (who recently attended the Emmys solo) confirms the two are an item, and opens upabout the nerdy way their surprise relationship started.
"I think we liked each other [but] he asked me over to his house to play a board game -- and that's exactly what we ended up doing," she says. "So I was like, 'This guy doesn't like me. Who actually plays a board game?'....The timing wasn't right. I don't think either of us was ready."
But why, in an age when high-profile romances are flaunted on the red carpet all the time, has this pair been so secretive?

But why, in an age when high-profile romances are flaunted on the red carpet all the time, has this pair been so secretive?
"Nobody knew about it for awhile, because we like to be at home, cooking and not going out," the actress, 43, says about what it's like dating her costar, 45 (neither has been married before; Krause, a Minnesota native, has an 8-year-old son from a previous relationship).
And she explains, "I've also been really protective of it, because it's important that you can buy us as brother and sister on the show."
It seems unlikely that 'Parenthood' ratings would have suffered once fans of 'Gilmore Girls' and 'Six Feet Under' -- many of whom would call these two brainy/funny actors a well-matched pair -- got wind of the relationship. Then again, Graham makes a good point about the Braverman sibling dynamic (Dax Shepard and Erika Christensen play the other two siblings at the heart of the fictional 'Parenthood' family): writers and viewers alike may now find it challenging to ignore headlines about Krause and Graham's personal life anytime the two share scenes as brother and sister.
In any case, Graham seems happiest that the relationship is a low-maintenence one, saying, "One of the things that's been so fun is that it's so easy," adding, "It's a lot, to work with somebody and spend time with them, too."
